Tell us below or Tweet\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/trendiskf\" target=\"_blank\">@TrendISKF<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>ONLINE SAFETY STARTS OFFLINE<\/b>: In light of the recent Snapchat breach, our friend and colleague, Anne Collier, provides suggestions on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csmonitor.com\/The-Culture\/Family\/Modern-Parenthood\/2014\/0103\/Online-safety-starts-offline\">Modern Parenthood blog<\/a> on how to help kids handle whatever threats come their way, online or off. She recommends internet safetyguards, including monitoring and filtering, along with empowerment and general respect for who we come in contact with on a daily basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NEW GOOGLE+ FEATURE OPENS DOOR TO YOUR INBOX:<\/strong> Last week, Google decided to allow by default anyone on Google+ to email you on Gmail without having your email address. \u00a0This has serious privacy implications and is 100% annoying (although it&#8217;s pitched as a way to connect easily with others.) \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/news.cnet.com\/8301-1023_3-57617033-93\/how-to-prevent-google-users-from-e-mailing-you\/\">Here&#8217;s how you can turn off this feature<\/a>, or at least modify it so the whole world can&#8217;t get to you uninvited.<\/p>\n<p><b>BIGGER TARGET DATA BREACH: <\/b>Recently reported data breaches among U.S. retailers appear to be further-reaching than we thought.\u00a0 Target upped the number of potentially impacted accounts from 40 million to 70 million, and Neiman-Marcus is now reporting they have been hacked, too.\u00a0 If you shop at Target and are worried or have been impacted, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/target-data-breach-9-ways-to-protect-yourself\/\">here are some great tips on what to do<\/a>. \u00a0<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><\/b><b>SNAPCHAT APOLOGIZES: <\/b>More than a week after 4.6 million Snapchat accounts were hacked, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2014\/01\/09\/snapchat-apologizes_n_4568669.html?utm_hp_ref=technology\">the company has decided to apologize<\/a>. &#8220;We are sorry for any problems this issue may have caused you and we really appreciate your patience and support,&#8221; &#8220;Team Snapchat&#8221; wrote in a company blog post Thursday. Is this sufficient to you? Tweet us your reaction to the apology @TrendISKF<\/p>\n<p><i><\/i><b>WHERE THE TEENS ARE: <\/b>Believe it or not, teens are not hanging out on Facebook like we like to believe. \u00a0A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/gyro\/2014\/01\/09\/forbes-where-are-teens-hanging-out-in-2014-hint-its-not-facebook\/\">recent study<\/a> found usage by teens dropped 56% in Q3 of 2013. So where are they? WeChat, Instagram, Vine, Flickr, Snapchat, and What\u2019sApp are the favorites of today.<\/p>\n<p><b>NEW YAHOO! TECH MAG:\u00a0<\/b>The who\u2019s who of the tech industry gathered last week to see the best new gadgets to hit store shelves and latest innovations. Making headlines at the show was an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/tech\/2014\/01\/07\/marissa-mayer-keynote-at-ces-2014\/4356891\/\">announcement by Yahoo!<\/a> of a new magazine-like site called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/tech\">Yahoo! Tech<\/a>.
