Tell us below or Tweet\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/trendiskf\" target=\"_blank\">@TrendISKF<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>TEENS AREN\u2019T ADDICTED TO SOCIAL<\/b>: They\u2019re addicted to each other, or at least that\u2019s what recent research claims. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/opinion\/2013\/12\/ap_thompson-2\/\">According to danah boyd <\/a>(she does not capitalize her name!), teens aren\u2019t allowed to hang out the way past generations did, so they\u2019ve moved their activities online. boyd claims that today\u2019s teens have neither the time nor the freedom to hang out, so their avid migration to social media is a rational response to a crazy situation.<\/p>\n<p><b>SNAPCHAT HACKED:<\/b> In case you missed it, <a href=\"http:\/\/readwrite.com\/2014\/01\/02\/snapchat-responds-privacy-concerns-app-update-hack?awesm=readwr.it_f0kS&amp;utm_campaign=&amp;utm_medium=readwr.it-twitter&amp;utm_content=readwrite3-orionautotweet&amp;utm_source=t.co#awesm=~osgYXL3jyZDkxH\">last week Snapchat was hacked<\/a> by those who wished to bring attention to the popular service\u2019s weaknesses (which Snapchat was made aware of in August last year).\u00a0 To make their point, the hackers posted online the phone numbers of 4.6 million customers (blurring out the last 2 digits).\u00a0 Snapchat is going to issue an update to fix the problem, but in case you\u2019re worried, <a href=\"http:\/\/lookup.gibsonsec.org\/\">check this site<\/a> to see if you were impacted.\u00a0 \u00a0If you were, there\u2019s some advice on this page on what to do.<\/p>\n<p><b>FACEBOOK SUED:\u00a0 <\/b>Facebook is again in the spotlight for alleged privacy violations.\u00a0 This <a href=\"http:\/\/news.cnet.com\/8301-1023_3-57616496-93\/facebook-sued-for-allegedly-intercepting-private-messages\/\">recent class-action lawsuit<\/a> says that they social network scans private messages for links, and uses this to count likes.\u00a0 Both sides claim they are in the right, but regardless of the outcome, it\u2019s still best to operate under the philosophy that anything you post online is really not private, and if someone can profit from what you post, they will try.<\/p>\n<p><b>BLOGGERS TO FOLLOW<\/b>: If you\u2019re looking to kick off 2014 by learning more, Common Sense Media put together a helpful list of their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commonsensemedia.org\/educators\/blog\/our-favorite-digital-citizenship-bloggers-to-follow-in-2014\">favorite Digital Citizenship bloggers <\/a>to follow. This is a good list to see how educators and individuals around the country are tackling the topic of digital literacy and citizenship.<\/p>\n<p><b>1 YEAR AFTER AN IPHONE<\/b>: Blogger Janell Burley Hofmann shares her experience <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/janell-burley-hofmann\/what-i-know-one-year-after-giving-my-teenager-an-iphone-contract_b_4524610.html?utm_hp_ref=parents-families-tech\">1 year after making her son sign an iPhone usage contract<\/a>. One of the most surprising takeaways \u2013 her daughter got a Kindle for Christmas and is begging for her own contract.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Think we missed an interesting story?
