OCTOBER AN IMPORTANT MONTH<\/b>: This month, many organizations, including ours, are raising awareness of multiple issues most notably cyber security and bullying prevention.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Please continue to follow us here and on Twitter as we\u2019ll be tweeting and re-tweeting tips from us and from many great organizations and individuals.<\/p>\n

YOUTUBE CLEANS UP COMMENTS: <\/b>While we love the 1st<\/sup> amendment, just because you can say something doesn\u2019t mean you should.\u00a0\u00a0 Bravo to YouTube \/Google for doing something about the awful comments<\/a> and spam that can often litter YouTube pages.<\/p>\n

ONLINE AD BAN<\/b>: In addition to the \u201ceraser law\u201d recently signed by California Gov. Jerry Brown to allow minors to remove content online, California has recently enacted a law to prevent certain online ads from being shown to children<\/a>. The new law restricts websites and apps directed to minors from advertising items that those under 18 cannot legally purchase. \u00a0Forbes contributor Eric Goldman claims this law is misguided and unconstitutional. \u00a0\u00a0The most important question he asks is \u201cdoes this law really help minors?\u201d<\/p>\n

KIDS\u2019 OPINIONS OF SOCIAL MEDIA: <\/b>CBS News asked a group of kids what they thought about social media<\/a>. The responses range from funny to adorable to serious, revealing how children truly feel about their parents\u2019 photos of them, exaggerated \u201cfriends\u201d numbers and more.<\/p>\n

KIDS LOVE TABLETS: \u00a0<\/b>New research<\/a> by U.K. telecoms regulator Ofcom has found while basic phones are being ditched by kids, tablet usage is on the rise across the board.\u00a0Among the younger kids\u2019 age group, 18% own a smartphone, and 18% own a tablet. \u00a0Tablet ownership has grown four times since 2012, when it stood at just 4%.<\/p>\n
