Tokyo, Japan - February 28, 2001 - Trend Micro Inc. (NASDAQ:TMIC, Tokyo TSE:4704), a leading provider of antivirus and Internet content security software, today announced that the "Notice of the Grant of Stock Option", which was released on February 28, 2001, has been amended as follows:
Item (v) of "(6) Conditions of Exercise of the Subscription Right" of "2. Summary of the Stock Option Plan" in the above-mentioned Notice
1. Before Amendment
(v) With respect to exercise of the subscription right, the total amount of the issue price of shares issued upon exercise of the subscription right shall not exceed ¥10,000,000 per calendar year.
2. After Amendment
(v) If restrictions on the total amount per calendar year of the issue price of shares to be issued upon exercise of the subscription right are provided for in the agreement regarding the grant of the subscription right (as described below), any person eligible for the stock option is subject to such restrictions with respect to exercise of the subscription right.
