Trend Micro Appoints Mike Conner as President of North American Operations

Cupertino, CA - June 23, 2000 - Trend Micro Inc. (Nasdaq:TMIC), a leading provider of enterprise antivirus software for the Internet age, today announced the appointment of Mike Conner to president of North American Operations, and senior vice president of Trend Micro. Mr. Conner will be responsible for running Trend Micro's US operations, including sales, marketing, technical support, finance and human resources.

Trend Micro's North American operations, headquartered in Cupertino, California, accounted for 28% of Trend Micro's total 1999 revenue of $133 million, up from 9% in 1998. Net sales for the U.S. grew to $37 million dollars, up 105% for the 1999 fiscal year. Sales of Trend Micro's Internet-based content security products, the award-winning InterScan® VirusWall® and ScanMail® software lines, made up half the company's total revenue. Trend Micro's projected US revenue for 2000 is $53 million dollars, or 26% of the company's total revenue for 2000, which is projected at $206 million.

Mr. Conner joined Trend Micro in 1997 as vice president of North American sales, since joining Mr. Conner's role has expanded steadily. He brings to Trend Micro more than fourteen years of corporate and channel sales experience. Prior to joining Trend Micro, Mr. Conner was vice president of Sales at GoldDisk. He has held senior management positions with both Borland and Software Publishing Company (SPC).

Mr. Chang noted that under Mr. Conner's leadership, Trend Micro's US Fortune 500 customer base expanded twofold from 1998 to 1999.
