Trend Micro Changes Organizational Structure

Tokyo, Japan - February 17, 2000 - Trend Micro, Inc. (Nasdaq: TMIC, Japan OTC: 4704), a leading provider of Internet virus protection, today announced that its Tokyo headquarters has modified its organizational structure by establishing new departments and reorganizing existing departments.

Effective February 17, 2000, Trend Micro established the Product Development Department, Sales and Marketing Department and Management Department. The existing Sales Department has been split into the Business Partner Division and the Consumer Division. The existing Marketing Department has been disbanded, and its former functions will be transferred to the Sales and Marketing Department and the Management Department. The company implemented these changes in response to its expanded scope of operations and to promote better-organized management and accelerated decision making within departments and divisions.
