Vayon Insurance Solutions faced several challenges that drove them to identify a security solution that would be implemented by an IT partner.
A main challenge was the need to deliver high security for their servers in the cloud.
They also needed to meet a timely requirement of by one of its largest customers. Vayon was given two months to achieve PCI-DSS certification, which is essential for companies that store data from customers’ credit cards.
Beyond the tight deadline, another challenge was to implement the project in a cloud environment. It is more difficult to ensure the safety of something that is not tangible. Cloud storage presents many new variables.

Vayon initiated contact with Logical IT Services (partner) and Trend Micro to begin an immediate implementation of Trend Micro’s SecureCloud and Deep Security solutions. “We thought about using an open source solution, but this would require a learning curve for which we had no time. After we saw what Trend Micro could offer, we believed that a licensed solution and implementation carried out by Logical IT would help us progress quickly with the deployment and optimize resources and human capital,” says Giuliana Renato, Superintendent of operations, Vayon Insurance Solutions.
To achieve requirements set by the PCI Security Standards Council, a global forum created by leading players in the credit card industry, Vayon focused on centralizing all information and layers of protection, as well as customizing the rules.
“Within three weeks, everything was already installed in the environment. Most importantly, SecureCloud and Deep Security integrated very easily. We now have management dashboards to monitor the day to day operation, indicators, reports, logs for each one that accesses the environment, and panels that help visualize what happens in the production environment, with only two or three clicks. We are very satisfied,” says Renato.
“It was a very positive partnership. We have a highly qualified team and count on support from Trend Micro. We were able to achieve the objectives and meet the client’s deadline,” explains Thiago Tassele, Director of Support, Logical IT Services.
