Trend Micro UK Set to Double Revenue in 2016, Increases Headcount by 80%

Layered security message a hit as revenue on track to double again by 2018

London (Infosec), 7th June 2016 - Cyber security leader Trend Micro is predicting revenue this year will double 2014’s figures, having seen a huge increase in demand for its hybrid cloud, network defence and user protection solutions as partners and organisations realise the benefits of layered security.

The past two years have seen Trend Micro UK step up yet another gear, increasing headcount by 80% and moving into new state-of-the-art offices in central London.

Having doubled the account management team over the period, Trend Micro will continue to expand headcount and is on the lookout for talented new additions as it’s on track to double revenues again by 2018.

The past 24 months have seen some landmark deals and impressive channel growth as partners and end customers reap the rewards of Trend Micro layered security solutions.

A series of investments with major systems integrators and consultancies and deals with some of the largest healthcare and financial organisations in the world has enabled even more CISOs to keep mission critical systems and highly sensitive data safe from zero-day threats, ransomware and advanced targeted attacks.

To support this expansion, Trend Micro has trained and certified over 400 partners over the past 18 months. On the back of this tremendous expansion, Trend Micro has also teamed up with specialist delivery partners to ensure its award-winning range of security solutions and services gets into the hands of end customers even more effectively.

“Integrated next generation solutions are vital to combating today’s advanced threats, including ransomware, targeted attacks and advanced persistent threats, server-side exploits and attacks targeting end user devices”, said Ross Baker, Sales Director at Trend Micro in the UK and Ireland.

“Ransomware in particular calls for a joined-up approach across all parts of the IT infrastructure to mitigate the risk of infection. Unfortunately, this threat is growing exponentially, with more than twice as many enterprise infections in February this year than in the entire first three months of 2015.”

Led by the flagship Deep Security platform, Trend Micro’s hybrid cloud offerings have seen a huge spike in demand over the past two years. And key strategic industry alliances have enabled deep integration with VMware, AWS and Azure to offer customers industry leading protection whilst minimising operational impact.

With the most comprehensive and effective set of next generation data centre security capabilities around, Trend Micro was recently named leader in the server security market for the sixth consecutive year by IDC, growing global market share to over 30%.

Other layers of protection include the award winning Deep Discovery – which monitors all network ports and 100+ protocols to identify attacks anywhere on the network, and features specialised detection engines, correlation rules, and custom sandboxing to detect in real-time stealthy targeted attacks, ransomware and more.

And Trend Micro User Protection takes all the pain out of endpoint security with user-centric visibility and control through a single console to keep users safe whether they’re in the office, at home, on the road, or anywhere in between.

Trend Micro will have a major presence at Infosecurity Europe this year. So if you want to find out more about how our layered security solutions can protect your organisation, or if you’re interested in joining a growing team that’s passionate about security, drop by Stand D25.
