Trend Micro continues its hiring momentum

London 16th September 2014 - Trend Micro continued its hiring momentum over the past month with the arrival of two information security industry veterans to boost its UK operations.

Matt Poulton joins Trend Micro as Enterprise Sales Director, where he’ll provide hands-on management and leadership of the Major Account Management (MAM) sales team.

Poulton has a stellar track record in the industry, beginning his IT career in 2002 with the global reseller Software Spectrum (now Insight) and subsequently PC-WARE (now Comparex). Having received that solid grounding in the channel, he then moved to the vendor side, responsible for enterprise sales account management in UK and Nordics at encryption specialist PGP.

Poulton was part of its acquisition by Symantec where he continued his role for 12 months before moving on to start-up, key and certificate management vendor Venafi. As one of the first employees Poulton set up the UK, Africa and Middle East operations and was responsible for sales and strategic business development.

Also joining Trend Micro UK is Ross Dyer, who is the firm’s new Technical Director. Dyer has a CV few can match. He comes to Trend Micro from HP Enterprise Security Services, where he served as EMEA-wide Head of Strategy Group for the CTO function.

Dyer’s team provided a critical function by leading senior level engagements with clients, and providing industry focussed information security advice and guidance. Clients included DWP, Ericsson, E.On, GE, and Shell.

He has built EMEA teams for several other organisations in the Information Security industry. Prior to HP, Dyer was a director for start-up BeyondTrust, where he worked on the development of distribution and reseller channels across EMEA and APAC.

Before that, he spent five years as UK & Ireland/South Africa Sales Engineering Manager at Websense. During this time he supported overseeing the growth of the business to become the leading global provider of internet filtering and DLP solutions.

Both additions to the UK team based in Paddington come on the back of a major expansion of Trend Micro’s channel team in the UK.

Trend Micro UK & Ireland Managing Director, Simon Young commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Ross and Matt to our fast-growing team. Their boundless enthusiasm, peerless expertise and formidable experience are a great fit for Trend Micro and I’m sure they’ll help us accelerate our channel growth and bring our award-winning Complete User Protection solutions to an even wider audience.”

In April the firm announced a three-fold increase in regional account managers (RAMs) and a doubling of its technical sales team, to help better protect customers in three key areas: consumerisation, cyber threats and cloud & datacentre.
