IDC White Paper: 3 Consumerization Issues to Conquer

Do you feel like BYOD introduces more IT challenges than…uh… the total number of Android apps on the market today? Well, first let me assure you, there are not that many challenges. But they can be complex. So where do you begin? This IDC white paper is a great starting point that can help you address three of the biggest issues with BYOD. First: think beyond the device. “Companies must consider all the different activities end users engage in with their devices,” states IDC analyst Stacy Crook in a recent IDC white paper, “Embracing Consumerization with Confidence.”
This white paper expounds on a critical message we’ve talked about on this blog: companies that allow BYOD have an advantage, but only if they have a complete security strategy, including IT technology management. That means securing the devices—and the data—that’s now mobile. Crook explains, “Many [employees] will not think twice about storing and syncing corporate data in consumer apps and clouds. Companies must consider not only how they will provide secure access to corporate data and apps but also how they will protect that information once it's on an employee-owned device.”
Are you ready to become empowered to overcome these challenges and protect your corporate data on mobile devices?
