This message appeared because your Trend Micro serial number has exceeded 3 installations. This means the serial number is already being used to protect 3 computers or devices.
To change which computers or devices are protected, you will need to deactivate Trend Micro Internet Security on one of the computers or devices currently being protected. Follow these steps to transfer your protection to a different computer or device.

If you are using a computer that cannot install traditional software because it has a Windows 10 operating system in S-mode, you can install Trend Micro’s Microsoft Edge extension. Learn More
This can happen if you are currently using an older version of Trend Micro security software or if you are running a conflicting security program. In both cases, Trend Micro Internet Security is removing the software that is causing the problem but needs to have the computer restarted to remove it entirely before installation can complete. Installation will continue as soon as the computer is restarted.
This can happen if Trend Micro detects that your computer does not have the necessary Windows operating system updates installed. Please check Microsoft's website for instructions on making sure your PC has the most recent updates installed.
This can happen when Trend Micro Internet Security needs to remove an older version of Trend Micro security before installing an update. It will do so automatically and will immediately install the newer version. You will see this message because Windows will detect the uninstallation.
This can happen if there is conflicting security software installed on your PC, or if the update file has been corrupted. Use the Windows Control Panel to uninstall any conflicting software and download a new copy of the update file. For more help, check our support page.
This can happen if your computer is not connected to the Internet and your Trend Micro security is not able to check for updates. Make sure your Internet connection or Wi-Fi connection is working.
This can happen if your Trend Micro security is downloading a large update or if the software has encountered an issue with conflicting software or malicious files. To troubleshoot this issue,
When you install the newest version of Trend Micro Internet Security, the older version of the software will be removed. This ensures that you will not experience problems with your computer because of conflicting software. This is a normal part of the upgrade process.
When you renew your subscription, the information needs to go from Best Buy to Trend Micro. This can take up to 24 hours. If the program is still showing an Expired status the next day, contact Geek Squad Support.
This can happen because Trend Micro Internet Security sometimes needs to restart after installing an update. When it restarts, this triggers the Windows Security Center to report a security risk. Don't worry though; by the time you see the message, Internet Security has already restarted and is protecting your computer again.
