NOTES:

EXPL_ANOGRE.AN is the Trend Micro detection for specially crafted TrueType fonts which affects Windows kernel-mode drivers. When the vulnerability is exploited, it allows execution of remote code in the context of kernel.

Once a malware successfully exploits the said vulnerability, it causes the following actions to be done on the system:

  • Shell execution
  • Provide elevation of privilege to its main component

Step 1
