NOTES:

This is the Trend Micro detection for the compromised SysConst.dcu file used by Borland Delphi compilers.

All files compiled or linked using the infected SysConst.dcu will be infected. These infected files belong to PE_INDUC family.

  SOLUTION

Minimum Scan Engine: 9.300
FIRST VSAPI PATTERN FILE: 7.118.11
FIRST VSAPI PATTERN DATE: 21 Apr 2010
VSAPI OPR PATTERN File: 7.119.00
VSAPI OPR PATTERN Date: 22 Apr 2010

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.

Step 2

Remove the malware/grayware file that dropped/downloaded TROJ_INDUC.AA

    • PE_INDUC.{variant}

Step 3

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TROJ_INDUC.AA. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files. Please check this Knowledge Base page for more information.

Step 4

Restore these deleted files from backup

*Note: Only Microsoft-related keys/values will be restored. If this malware/grayware also deleted registry keys/values related to programs that are not from Microsoft, please reinstall those programs on your computer.
