This Trojan connects to an adult site.

This Trojan arrives as attachment to mass-mailed email messages.

It executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.

This Trojan creates the following folders:

  • c:\hf_mig\

It displays the following fake error messages:


Download Routine

This Trojan accesses the following websites to download files:

  • http://www.{BLOCKED}c.idrett.no/////mazda.exe - detected as TSPY_BANCOS.QSPN

It saves the files it downloads using the following names:

  • c:\hf_mig\winv.exe

It then executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.

NOTES:

It then connects to the following adult site:

  • http://www.{BLOCKED}os.com/

It does the abovementioned routine in order to hide its malicious routine from the user.

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Step 2

Remove malware files dropped/downloaded by TROJ_BANLOD.QSPN

Step 3

Identify and terminate files detected as TROJ_BANLOD.QSPN

  1. If the detected file is displayed in either Windows Task Manager or Process Explorer but you cannot delete it, restart your computer in safe mode. To do this, refer to this link for the complete steps.
