Arrival method

Arrival method is commonly deemed synonymous to the terms “infection vector” and “infection channel”, since both refer to how a particular malware gets inside computer systems. There are different arrival methods for a threat:

  • Downloaded from the internet
  • Downloaded by other malware
  • Opened as email attachments
  • Accessed through  iFrame-compromised sites
  • Shared and downloaded from P2P sites
  • Downloaded from removable drives
  • Downloaded from social media sites or instant messaging programs
