Titanium Maximum Security Installation Instructions

Click here if a window for downloading the software does not open automatically.

Confirm that your computer meets the installation requirements.

STEP ONE

When the Download process begins, a TrendMicro Downloader dialog box appears:

1. Select Save As (from “Save” dropdown) and navigate to the folder where you’ll put the Downloader, then click Save.
2. Once the download completes, click Open Folder (in IE), then double-click the Downloader.

STEP TWO

For Windows Vista, 7, and 8 installations, a “User Account Control” dialog box will appear, asking the following:

Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?

In order to proceed, you must select YES.

STEP THREE

The Downloader will complete the download and begin the installation. It will then check if your computer meets the minimum system requirements.

STEP FOUR

When the download process above completes, a new dialog window will appear asking you to Choose Your Version.

If you have a serial number, select the “Paid version” option and enter your serial number as indicated. If you do not know where to find your serial number, click the link below the fields.

If you are installing the trial (free) version, select the "Trial version" option.

After you’ve made your selection, click the “Next” button at the bottom of the window.

STEP FIVE

Next, you’ll be shown the license agreement for which two (2) items need your attention once you’ve finished reading:

(1) Check or uncheck the “Share threat information with Trend Micro” option below the agreement text.

• What does this mean?
  

  By selecting this option, when new threats attack your computer, this feature provides threat feedback to the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network, which aids in improving your protection and that of other Trend Micro users.

  We strongly encourage you to leave this checked (it is by default). No personal information is collected.

  However, if you do not wish to share such threat information, uncheck the box.

(2) Click the "Agree and Install" button at the bottom of the window.

STEP SIX

Titanium will begin the installation, get the latest updates, and then do a Quick Scan of your computer for existing threats.

This will take a few minutes.

A progress indicator will display the stages and progress of the installation.

STEP SEVEN

When the installation is completed, the wizard will indicate "Installation Completed."

If you choose to receive the latest news and offers from Trend Micro, please provide your email address where indicated (Paid Versions and some Trial Versions).

Click "Finish."

STEP EIGHT

The installation wizard will close and the Titanium Welcome screen will automatically appear.

The Welcome screen for the Paid Version lets you get started with Trend Micro Android Security or Titanium Internet Security for Mac. All you need to do is to click the relevant Get Started button.

NOTE: By installing these products, you will be allocating device licenses from your account. For example: if you purchased a three-device license, you can choose to allocate one of these licenses to your Windows PC, one to a Mac, and one to an Android device. Or mix and match to suit your needs. To see how many seats have been allocated and to what device, please visit MyAccount.

STEP NINE

Check the checkbox "Don’t show this page again" if you do not wish to see the Welcome screen when you load the Titanium Console in the future, then click the "Close" box in the upper right corner to close the Welcome screen. The Titanium Console becomes visible.

The features displayed in the Titanium Console again depend upon the version you have installed. The Titanium Console shows threats stopped, lets you execute scans, gives you access to reports, and lets you configure settings, using mouse-clicks from easy-to-use screens. Shown is the Console for Titanium Maximum Security 2013 (Paid Version).
