Overview of this Critical Patch Release ======================================================================== This critical patch resolves the following issue: Issue: Trend Micro Control Manager(TM) does not support the display of any information about the new engine for the Common Internet File System (CIFS) in ServerProtect for Linux. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution: This critical patch ensures that Control Manager displays the necessary information about the new engine for CIFS in ServerProtect for Linux. 1.1 Files Included in this Release ===================================================================== A. System Requirements ======================================================================== This critical patch is only for ServerProtect for Linux 3.0 for Red Hat(TM) 6 or ServerProtect for Linux 3.0 for CentOS 6. You must install ServerProtect for Linux 3.0 Patch 4 for Service Pack 1 for Red Hat 6 or ServerProtect for Linux 3.0 for CentOS 6 GM build before installing this critical patch. If you have registered or are going to register ServerProtect for Linux to Control Manager, you must apply the appropriate Control Manager hot fix first before applying this critical patch. - For Control Manager 5.5, apply Control Manager 5.5 Hot Fix 1828 - For Control Manager 6.0, apply Control Manager 6.0 Hot Fix 1470 Note: If you have installed any of these Control Manager hot fixes, then you must be able to see the new engine "Linux/x86 for CIFS" in the list of components. 4. Installation/Uninstallation ======================================================================== 4.1 Installation ===================================================================== To install this critical patch: 1. If you have registered or are going to register ServerProtect for Linux to Control Manager, install the required Control Manager hot fix using the installation steps in the corresponding hot fix readme file. - For Control Manager 5.5, apply Control Manager 5.5 Hot Fix 1828 - For Control Manager 6.0, apply Control Manager 6.0 Hot Fix 1470 Otherwise, proceed to the next step. 2. Log onto the ServerProtect for Linux server as a root user. 3. Upload and copy the critical patch file to a working directory. For example, "/home/workdir." 4. Type the following command to extract the critical patch files from the "tar.gz" file. # tar zxvf splx_30_lx_en_criticalpatch1366.tar.gz 5. Log on as a root user. 2. Stop ServerProtect for Linux using the following command: # /etc/init.d/splx stop 3. Rename the backup files created during installation by running the following commands: # cd /opt/TrendMicro/SProtectLinux/SPLX.util/ # cp CMconfig.bak.cp1366 CMconfig # cp EncryptAgentPassword.bak.cp1366 EncryptAgentPassword # cd /opt/TrendMicro/SProtectLinux/SPLX.vsapiapp/ # cp entity.bak.cp1366 entity # cp splxmain.bak.cp1366 splxmain # cd /opt/TrendMicro/SProtectLinux/SPLX.lib/agent/ # cp libProductLibrary.so.bak.cp1366 libProductLibrary.so # cd /opt/TrendMicro/SProtectLinux/ # cp SPLX_CM_UI.zip.bak.cp1366 SPLX_CM_UI.zip 4. Start ServerProtect for Linux by running the following command: # /etc/init.d/splx start 5. Post-installation Configuration ======================================================================== No post-installation steps are required. Note: Trend Micro recommends that you update your scan engine and virus pattern files immediately after installing the product. 6.
